(Reuters) - Monsanto Co (MON.N) shares were up 1.8 percent on Tuesday on
rumors Germany's BASF (BASFn.DE), the world's largest chemical maker, would
bid for the global biotech seed company.
A tie-up with Monsanto would give BASF a deeper footing in the United States
and help it compete with agricultural rivals, including DuPont's (DD.N)
Pioneer unit and Dow Chemical's (DOW.N) DowAgroSciences unit.
BASF and Monsanto declined to comment.

第一，看了一眼52周股价，最高76，最低44. 目前在70左右，偏高。所以现在这个价钱
买就是比80%-90%的人买的高。捂帮更喜欢在50左右买，买的比80%-90%的人便宜。
第二，MON最大的风险是政治风险，有些环保主义民族主义者会不遗余力攻击转基因。
万一正好出点事，被搞可能也不小。此外我认为随着生物技术尤其是测序技术的飞速提
高，MON的种子被山寨也不奇怪。这个领域你花大力气筛选出一个有效的转基因可能花
了5-10年，我克隆一下只要1-2年。 |

虽然URE相对强势，我想这次可能是大浪打尽所有的鱼，很难落网。
retail不好，retail reit也不会有好消息。hotel reit在QE2过后可能leverage
buyout, restructuring方面的好消息也会比较少了，所以也没有什么catalyst.
industrial reit，不用说了。manufacturing data最近都没有好消息。可能apartment
reit会好些。
所以没看到URE最近你会有什么亮点，你说呢？ |

AMRN 的专利我研究过。他们有6个patent applications pending，其中有两个close
to issuing。其中一个运气好的话，任何时候都可能issue。但这取决于专利局
examiner的个人尺度。如果再有一轮rejection的话，起码还要拖两到三个月。立马
issue的可能性70%吧。如果patent 有issue，再加upcoming NDA，股价会冲25。再一轮
rejection的话，会有小挫。不过有NDA支撑不会大跌。
专利早晚会issue，只是多早的问题。不过shareholder现在都急吼吼盼着buyout，所以
timing是个问题。 |
