表面看起来，火箭第二节进攻全靠他，全场20分，全队最高，好多人都说火箭虽然输球
，但看到了球队pg的希望。
我说，呸，呸，呸！
第一节火箭本来领先十几分，替补一上场，就看brooks一个人疯狂老鼠。一会儿coast
to coast，一会儿狂飙三分，给人感觉全队都靠他撑着。虎扑上的解说（转得是台湾的
信号）也在那儿说要不是brooks，火箭就废了。。。
我怎么越看越觉得就是这哥们把整个队伍的节奏，还有所有替补的状态都打没了呢？他
一个人全场出手15次，全队最高，其中大部分时间都是在第二节，可以想见其他几个替
补能有什么机会。而且他的得分伴随着的是他的连续TO，如果没记错，第二节有连续的
3，4个。最可气的是，他的失误都导致湖人的快攻得分。全队他失误5次，跟姚明并列
第一。（可是考虑到姚明有2，3个失误都是被莫名其妙放在了组织后卫位置上的失误（
站在弧顶接球，没人接应），这几个失误倒有一半也是pg的责任。）
结果就是第二节火箭湖人打得好不热闹。火箭brooks一打五，湖人一群人打快攻，
brooks出手越来越大胆，湖人气 |

我就心动试了purefflow和pureconnect。后来，没有买，主要是两个原因：（1）那2种

今天上了好几个网站看这两人的对合法移民的态度。Jeff Sessions 反对任何可能对
工作移民更宽松的条款。
现在网上提出那个南方州的Mo Brooks众议员 非常想变成参议员来接替Jeff Sessions
的空缺。他的网站感觉跟极端。

基本上，他的支持者理论是： 废除 h1b, 美国失业人口这么多，高校毕业生也很多找

人力成本的借口。拉丁裔抢美国人的低收入工作，亚裔抢美国人的高收入工作并直接导
致市场平均工资降低。工资光谱两边都抢了，所以不要任何合法的非法的移民。
如果Mo 也选上参议员。
感觉明年一定会有非常严格的移民改（倒）革（退）。

我看了看我以前的跑鞋， 的确是挺neutral的， 前掌磨损情况差不多， 就是脚后跟
外测的那个硬橡胶容易磨穿。。。
话说runningwarehouse现在打折的这个Glycerin 和Ghost 价格都挺不错， 加上15%off
和一件免费brooks T恤， 超值哈。。。虽然比不过俺以前用BCB买的30一双的2130便宜。
brooks 的鞋子比 acics的短些宽些， 需要买大半号， 我以前穿asics要穿4E的，这个

geoscience（geochemistry 或Crystal Chemistry ）和Virginia Tech(VPI)，
geoscience（nanogeochemistry）。两个学校的专业和综合排名分别为 SUNY@SB 28/
96, VPI 13/70.
SUNY@SB 给钱多，看来Stony Brook很有钱，但是不知道为什么他们却不招大量牛教授
？而且Stony Brook离NYC很近，是否对找工作有什么帮助呢？如果条件允许的话，我不
是很想从事教职，希望找一些相关的咨询公司或者其他政府部门。
VT给我的钱虽然少，但也够活了，我的教授，人好也牛，但是之前的毕业生基本都是做
faculty，老板和industry的联系也不是很紧密，是因为VT附近没有相关的就业机会么
？比如环境咨询公司那种。
美国如果找industry工作，在老板和industry，没有太多联系的情况下，那个学校更有
优势呢。是该选择牛老师还是选择好地方呢？

而申请了学校转专业延长F1签证并有更多时间机会学习新知识找工作，目前需要在4月
15日前做决定：
Stat Ph.D.@Stony Brook vs. Biostat Master@Harvard
1）Stony Brook给了TA, Harvard费用很贵（2年估计一共$10-12万），亲戚经济条件很
一般，去Stony Brook不用担心费用，去Harvard得借钱
2）当然学校不是一个档次
3）同时有Ph.D. vs. Master的问题
4）而且又有stat vs. biostat 的情况
5）最后因为用了OPT，所以不管去哪个项目都没有OPT了，所以毕业后找工作的签证衔
接是个问题，大家觉得还是应该继续做薄厚吗？绿卡没伸，EB1基本不够资格，5年内拿
卡肯定没戏。
请大家从最适合在美国找工作的方向指导建议应该去哪个program。万分感谢！ |

我本身工作就是做mortgage backed security的valuation的，所以每天看着rate。去
年十一月份的时候，我觉得rate跌得差不多了，就开始考虑refi。我的condo的loan很
小，很多broker都懒得来做refi。Chris是当时买房子的realtor介绍的，可惜买房子的
时候，他out of office，就找了其他的broker作了mortgage，anyway，这次就给他写
了份mail。Chris马上就回复了，可是，我工作太忙，又懒，十二月份又要回国，所以
就一直拖在那里。。。后来，一月份回来后，Chris还来follow up，时常给我update
新的rate。一月份在rate sell off之前那天，我在bloomberg上面看到rate已经开始上
去了，Chris突然发了份email给我说可以给我我要的rate，其实我是挺惊讶的，于是决
定买上lock，第二天果然rate就上去了。二月中旬就refi结束，一切都很新顺利，所以
决定给大家推荐一下。

从stony brook到city的peak时间是周一到周五早上6-10点。

版上被 massfish “钓BASS，送BASS”的一声号令搞得热火朝天，咱也不能闲着阿，不过咱utah 这地儿那点小bass实在不登大雅之堂，还是来点土特产吧。
中午驱车来到Uinta, 众湖之中选了一个小小的 Lilly lake。闲话少叙，不多时land７条，用的全是一种叫 royal coachman 的 fly。５条是不大的 stocked rainbow trout，这种钓的太多了，没啥意思，但是值得一 BSO 的是今天终于上了我的第一条 Utah 的 native brook trout，果然鲜艳漂亮。
还有一条小的可怜的不知名小鱼，大家帮忙给认一下吧！ |
