王维斌与我是哥大的校友。他的孩子和我儿子一样大，所以时有接触。我的人寿保险的
经济人还是他领到我家来的（可惜那人是半个骗子）。王维斌瘦高，带副眼镜，一看就
是一位文质彬彬的学者。他是CUSPEA项目的学人之一。当年诺贝尔获得者李政道和中国
官方很熟，他亲自在中国各名牌大学挑了一批学物理的顶尖学生来美国深造，被称为
CUSPEA （China-United States Physics Examination and Application Program）。
李政道是哥大的教授，自然把最好的学生自己先留下，然后其他人在分到其他学校去。
所以王维斌可以说是精英中的精英了。

加州议会拉丁裔和非裔立法党团就SCA5发表联合声明。这个联合声明实际上是把前一段
时间所有反对SCA5亚裔民众放到了对立面，而且宣告了一场真正意义的大规模辩论和立
法攻防战的开始。亚裔民众准备好了吗？
声明要点翻成中文如下：
1、即使现在法案被退回参议院，拉丁裔和非裔立法党团强力支持SCA5并坚定不移地努
力使其通过。
2、这个法案被延误的主要原因是：不诚实的、极端保守的党派利益者鼓动的恶毒的、
散布虚假信息的一场运动造成的，目的是为了拒绝给所有加州人平等的机会。
3、毫无疑问209法案造成了非裔、拉丁裔和其他未被充分代表的族裔在高等教育里巨大
和急剧的下降。

Sciences finds that hard work is the reason why Asian-American students do
better in school than their white peers.
