BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Schering-Plough Corp. and Merck & Co. led drug
stocks into positive territory early Friday, with both stocks gaining ahead
of a scheduled scientific presentation of data for their popular cholesterol
drug Vytorin.
The Amex Pharmaceutical Index (DRG) was up marginally at 299.8 and the Amex
Biotechnology Index (BTK) rose 0.6% to 733.8.

Analysts: Arena’s diet drug still a toss-up call

Analysts are still skeptical whether Arena Pharmaceuticals’ long-awaited
diet drug lorcaserin can win FDA approval, according to notes released
Thursday.
The FDA originally rejected lorcaserin in 2010, citing concerns that some
animal studies indicated it could trigger the growth of cancerous tumors in
