QAD and the one I used before are both drop away rests, no doubt. But, QAD
comes with some special designs and solves the concerns I have. First, QAD
uses a fork to hold the arrow, the fork can be pull and stay upright before
you pull the bow. In addition, it has a block bar on the top of the fork.

Icefields Parkway是连接Banff国家公园和Jasper国家公园的高速公路（93 North）。
个人感觉Icefields Parkway是整个Banff国家公园的精华，花再多的时间都值得。这条
parkway上印象最深的景点是Bow lake& Bow Glacier, Peyto Lake and Columbia
Icefield.
似乎提到Bow lake的游记并不多，提到 Bow Glacier 的更少了，但我觉Bow Glacier是
我认为Baff国家公园最奇 的景点之一。从Bow lake幽美的湖边遥望，不远处湖对岸并
不太高的两山之间有一个巨大的冰川，冰川下悬挂着一条银链般的瀑布。此时凉爽微风
吹来，享受湖边微甜的空气，。幽蓝的湖水，雪白的瀑布，银色的冰川，墨绿的森林一
切都那么真实，又那么遥远，美得让人不敢相信，让人浮想联翩。几千年来无数中国文
人墨客所追求和描绘的山水意境不就是这里吗？？这不是仙境哪里是仙境？也许传说的
神仙姐姐就住在雪山的那一边吧 |

第一天中午从PHX 直飞YYC，住Four Points by Sheraton at Calgary Airport. 在大
统华随便买了些吃。
第二天前往Banff, 先去Cascade Pond, 然后是Lake Minnewanka, Two Jack Lake,
Johnson Lake， 围着Johnson Lake走了一圈， 然后是Tunnel Mountain, Gondola上
Sulphur Mountain, Hot Springs, 晚上歇Best Western.
第三天走Bow Valley Parkway, Johnason Canyon, 一直走到Upper Springs. 然后去
Verzillion Lakes, 结果发现这是此行最坑爹的景点，完全是浪费时间。惺惺然的回到
Banff 镇上，参观了Cascade Garden, Bow Falls, 走了镇附近的两个trail, 继续住
Best Western.

Many people use ground blind for compound bow and crossbow. I prefer ground
blind better since it is much more comfortable than tree stand.
If you do want a tree stand, go buy a climbing tree stand.
It is easy for a normal sized guy to use a 60 lbs compound bow. The modern
compound bow is good to kill big animals at 50 lbs, actually the lower limit
by law is 35lbs for deer hunting in my state.

铁都好羡慕。
我觉得你主要问题是换气困难, 所以你用直臂压水抬头+over rotate。原因和改进如下:
(1) 产生稳定的bow wave, 靠提高速度实现。你目前几乎没有bow wave。你可sprint一
个lap, 会发现以上问题有很大缓解。
(2 产生瞬间的bow wave。象我们这些长游的over glider速度慢, 产生稳定的bow
wave无法实现。可以在换气瞬间, 靠快速滑水和加大打水力度产生瞬间的bow wave, 持
续时间刚够换气。
(3) 换气时,左手向前, 向水面reach。如果手太低, 水会对人有向下压力, 导致头位置
更低。 |

Calgary出发，banff, Bow Falls，johnston canyon, moraine lake, lake louise
banff小镇挺漂亮的，小镇的bow fall就一般般了，比不上公园里无数的其他fall，
johnston canyon挺不错的，
赶上阴天和小雪，moraine lake, lake louise没有给我带来太多惊喜

yoho (natural bridge, emerald lake), 回头往jasper走， bow lake, peyto lake
yoho的takakkaw falls关了，ohara也关了要走22公里来回
emerald lake当时也是阴天，有点冷，要不划船应该感觉不错
在bow lake附近见了3头熊，非常兴奋哈，其中一头在我们车绕了一圈，还有一只呆在
bow lake三个多星期了，那酒店的人说的。这4天，见到熊比鹿还多
peyto很漂亮，不可思议的蓝，虽然也是阴天小雪

当初是哪个家伙造谣说我是bow的？
请你告诉我。我要找他敲报告。
以前，我倒是知道内部版面有一个“扫黄打非办公室”，
（是某些站务亲口告诉我的。）
变态的站务们用这个版面搜集黄色和反动的内容。
以前的站务有很多都是我认识的。现在的站务中，认识的就比较少了。
而这次事件的三位主角bow, hhyy, chester，以及一位配角issaic，
我倒都是认识的，都可以算是朋友吧。
嗯，好像都曾经一起喝酒的。其中，和chester一起喝的次数最多。
朋友遇到麻烦，我不应该落井下石。
所以我应该继续支持上述四位。
相信他们能够处理好这件事情。
不过，说实话，最近我对bow确实有一些不满。
不满的原因有两方面。
一，他经常表达这样的观点：他们是为学校服务的。
二，bow亲手砍了几位右派人士的帐号。
这次事件中，有很多左派人士也非常活跃。
（而日月光华硕果仅存的几位右派倒是比较低调。）
更有很多好久不露面的老家伙出来活动了。
bbs是个小社会。希望通过这次日月光华的“民主运动”，
那些左派人士能够转化为右派，一起推动中国社会的民主化 |

骑驴找马6个月，拒过别人，更多的是被别人拒。。。
昨天签了offer。很喜欢的职位和公司，工资也满意。唯一的小遗憾，差不多1000mile
的relocation，从东部大城市搬到南方小农村。不过考虑到有回祖国出差的机会，这点
小遗憾也就抵消了。
然后现在就是准备做background check, drug screen, H1B transfer和搬家了。祝我
一切顺利吧。
心情很复杂：小兴奋，小向往，小焦虑，小惆怅。。。

我女儿pre-K，先是跟了一个俄罗斯老师，想着俄罗斯老师有比较严，基本功扎实的名
声。我是一点都不懂就去了。一上来就要求一周两节，一节30分钟。上了12节课还在练
bow hold，琴都没摸上过， $400多块学费就没了。我一开始有犯嘀咕，觉得老师的教
学方法不对，可我有觉的自己是一点不懂，老师要打好基础，我得配合。后来我问她有
没教过我女儿那么大的小孩子，她说教个她自己的儿子。也就是说她没有教小小孩的经
验，拿大孩子的一套来教小孩是不行了。
后来换了一个suzuki的老师，我很庆幸没有在俄罗斯老师那里浪费太多的时间和金钱。
我太喜欢这个suzuki的老师和suzuki的教学了。俄罗斯老师那里，她只能告诉女儿bow
hold不对，却不能用简单的解释让她知道，正确的是怎么样。所以女儿永远都没有在她
那里学会。而且很沮丧，一让她练bow hold，她就开始哭。suzuki的老师一上来就和女
儿说食指是猴子的尾巴，要包在stick上，中指和无名指是lover，要永远在一起，还要

我觉得几岁都可以学，看小孩喜欢不喜欢，ready不
ready。
大提琴比较贵一些，琴弦和琴弓都比小提琴贵。
我见过一个怒气冲冲的妈妈去换

我去换小提琴的bow,她那个bow是我这个bow价钱4倍。
大提琴看上去挺高雅的，大提琴声音比较低。

发帖数: 4571 | 35 玩啥弓？long bow, recurve, compound, crossbow? 从实用的角度，上后两种。如果
你的州archery season不区分compound bow和crossbow, 那crossbow更实用，因为速度
快，射程远, 穿透力强。不过，从玩的角度，正好反过来，compound比crossbow好玩，
传统弓比compound和crossbow好玩。
我买弓的时候还在Boston。麻省把crossbow和firearm放在一个season，除非你有医生
证明说你拉不开40lb的compound bow，才允许你在弓猎季节用crossbow. 所以我买的弓
是compound bow。牌子和型号都nightrunner推荐的，是bowtech下属的一个牌子。
bowtech在这个领域技术领先，至少当年是这样。
我原来在麻省有个弓猎师傅，但没学多少就搬家了。好多东西都是跟nightrunner学的
。我刚刚升级的箭，也是紧跟他的脚步。他对这些很有研究，更多的让他来回答吧。 |

女儿就recruve bow to start with。 小孩子长得快， 一会就要换弓了， 要让我说的
话去靶场租比较划算， 等大了喜欢玩的话再买把好弓。

发帖数: 4571 | 38 刚才跟师傅打电话聊些钓鱼打猎的进展，我就顺便向他请教我想玩recurve打靶不打猎
。但他听错了，以为我要用recurve打猎，就讲了一下recurve和compound bow在打猎中
的应用。
他今年不到70，从小在德州农场长大。5岁开始玩弓，10多岁就开始打猎。那个时候没
有compound bow，只有long bow and recurve. 他主要用recurve, 后来转到compound。
recurve射好很难，需要大量大量长期的练习来掌握。但是是真正地练习你的技术，判
断，和意念，一点偏差，就可能完全错过一头鹿。而且，有效射程短。优点是可以追踪
射击快速移动的鹿，因为没有sight和peep等等那些东西限制视线和判断。
compound一切都tune up好以后，用上release马上就可以射的很准。而且，贮存能力大
，射程远，还有let-off，很实用。缺点是不好追踪射击移动目标。他把compound bow
的peep去掉，只用sight，有利于射移动目标。他已经教会好几个人这个方法了，都收
到意想不到的效果。但我目前还没接受他这个建议，我还是得靠那个peep。... 阅读全帖 |

发帖数: 1432 | 41 昨天去了local archery看了看，租弓和一天的费用才11块钱。玩了几个小时，觉得很
不错。年费一年120，随便玩,每次都能租到不同的弓（租弓每次5块）。
昨天我说是初学，以前从来没有接触过弓箭的，结果他们就给我一把recursive bow，
手把手教我怎么射箭。几个老美在旁边用的都是compound bow，靶子比我的远一倍多不
算，箭射到靶子里面拿出来很费劲，而且精度非常高。这种compound bow力量很大，二
三十米内几乎不用考虑箭头重量对轨道的影响。很多弓初始速度都达到了320FPS以上，
加上箭头的重量和airgun的子弹重量明显不是一个等级，我不得不先提醒大家，
compound bow威力非常大，打鹿，甚至打熊都可以！
local archery每周六上午有课，还有Olympic archery的专业培训。我感觉弓箭是力量
和耐心的结合，比光打airgun又上升了一个档次,难度高很多。airgun，搞个scope，只
要枪托得稳，基本上都八九不离十。弓箭不一样，拉弓的力量和稳定性一定要保证，室
外的话还要注意风速。对人的要求更高。

I have and shoot the 2010 Stinger. I really like the way the bow shoots. What I didn't like was how loud the bow was. So I went and put all the string suppressors and vibration supressors you could add. That makes a whole world of difference!!!

recovering,breathing and kicking need an overhaul.
swimming at this speed, pulling not kicking should be the main propelling
force. however, you were doing 6-beat kick.and your kicking is not fast
enough to create a bow wave, which allows you turn your head less and still

抬头小角度迎水，一个重要优势是可以省力高效地换气，所谓在bow wave上换气。按现
在的游法，有没有bow wave？
得看bow wave是怎么形成的。如果可以稍晚（手划过胸之后）转体，胳膊和转体配合的
好一些，脑袋转过来即将换气的时候，肩正好pop up。这么大的一块会立刻形成很深的
漩涡，嘴旁边的水立刻就会流向这个漩涡底部。如果水到眉线，保持小角度迎水，以头
的最大直径顶水，还可以顶开一部分水。大部分流向漩涡的水，和顶开的一部分水，形
成一个wave。此时在嘴旁边，略低于水面，就是空气。
现在转体太早，该用肩推开水的时候，肩已经静止地待在水面上。这种游法游的再快，
只能靠头顶开有限的一点水，bow wave不够深。 |

一抹红色迷住了。所以全程中难得一次的早起就留给了Lake Louise湖畔欣赏日出。黎
明时分，湖边已经摆好了大大小小的三脚架，众多摄影师以及业余爱好者已经在守候着
日出时分的到来。我为了轻装上阵，没有带三脚架，碰巧湖边有把椅子，被我拿来作为
临时的相机支点，总算可以记录下来这黎明日出的美妙时光。
