I really thought Phil would win after he birdied the 16th hole to take the
lead. Unfortunately, the old "Phil" haunted him at the 17th. But what an
unbelieveable putting show by Retief! He putted like he didn't care. When
everyone else struggled more or less on the green, he single putted 10 times
at the last round on a rock-hard, bumpy fast green! One clutch putt after
another. He did exactly what he needed to do to win under the enormous
pressure. Hats off to him!

quadruple bogey 1st, triple bogey 2rd, bogeyed next 6, and finished front with
a 50.
did much better in the back 9, scored a 45. had a couple of birdie putts, did
not make them. i misses every putt longer than 6 feet today, and had many
3 putts and at least one 4-putt. i am no retief, that's for sure. |

right thing, to be conservative. Par-out in the back nice except 16 holes
definitely will have a great chance to win or go into playoff. But the bogey
at 13 hurt Phil a lot. Moreover, both Ernie and Todd made some lucky birdies
in the back nine.

managed 4 par's and no birdies, could have a few more par's if i didn't 3 putt
so many greens. my wedge game really let me down, had problems with most my
short inside 80 yards. need to go back to the short game range to practice.
nonetheless, i was glad that i played. the course were almost empty so i had a
few extra practice holes after finishing 18. my distance was pretty good
today, hit a few staight 280 yds 3 woods |

over, 正踌躇满志准备刷新本人最佳九洞纪录时，就。。。别提啦！
和我一块打球的哥们shot 77. 大多数的洞我的drive 都比他远，好像我的green in
regulation 也比他多，可是人家总是能go up and down, 俺就不行。仍需苦练short
game! |

play any less than 6800 yard courses and i always play from the back tee,
which means most par 4s are 400-460 yds, that's when woods become a necessity
if i want to give myself chances to birdie and par. i tend to do well on 6800
yds courses, another extra few hundred yards make it extremely challenging for
me, partitually when stepping up to the tee box, facing those 450-470 yds par
4s. mentally it's twice as hard at |

I just do not think anybody will shot a 3 under par tomorrow. The way the
holes are cut, players have to execute perfectly to make a par, not to
mention a birdie.
Tiger today had a par 4 hole. On the second shot, he was merely 70 some
yards away from the flag. Then it took some effort for him to make par.
The court is too difficult.
I think any score under par will win the tournament. hehe |

Goosen had a couple of holes today in which he made bogey and double bogey
consecutively. He somewhat survived with three more birdies in the back
nine. But you just never know what will happen tomorrow. A bad sequence
can get him out of the top. |

this morning that went 300+ yards with a three wood. The course
is interesting too. I actually can not separate most greens from
fairway. :)
Tiger is in a good shape. He hit three shots in the bunkers. He

let me say something.
first of all, a golf course are rated by the yardarg, slope/rate, not by
handicap. but it's true that each hole has its handicap index.
here i assume that hole's handicap index is 12.
another thing could be frustruated a little bit. Sometimes, even for a guy who
never played his golf, could get a birdie in his first play. it just means
how luck he is.

I followed him for 8 holes during the pratice round wednesday. then I swithed
to Luke Donald.
Luke Donald is such a great guy. really nice.
I waited for him at the hole 8 for autograph, I talked to him, "u're my swing
model". he smiled to me. that's nice.
I followed him 11 holes yesterday. he played alright. For hole 2 par 5, when
DiMarico's 2nd shot goes for green, donald just tried to lay up. I was
disapointed. then Dimarco got 2 birdies in a row. and donald got 3 pars in a
row. |

发帖数: 210 | 33 今个球季下来，各种形式的比洞赛打了十几场，回想一下好像成绩非常不错，获胜率百
分之八十左右。其中很多场赢的都是比我强的球手，上个星期刚刚赢了一个handicap
index 5的哥们，虽然他让我三杆，但实际比塞中这三杆并没有用上。
觉得比洞赛一个对我很有利的因素，就是long driving distance。因为有让杆，又是
难度最高的几个洞，经常是球场上最长的几个四杆洞。一旦我的开球找到球道，一般会
比我的对手远，这样他们的心理压力很大，发挥也经常受影响。平时我是那种稳定性比
较差的球手，一般一场球下来有一两个birdie，很多par，但也有一堆double bogey和
triple bogey。而在比洞赛中，打坏了一次只输一个洞，对总的比赛影响不大。
当然打球最刻骨铭心的总是输球。两次输球，一次输给一个chipping master，该拿下
的洞总是拿不下，这哥们在我是GIR的情况下，几次从四五十码外将球chip到离洞几英
尺之内，而且从不失手，简直就是一个切球大师。赛后告诉我年轻时是个2
handicapper，虽然现在只是个8 index。另一次输给一个推杆超水平发挥的主， |

直到凌晨2点。
上网，看书，看电视，于6点接到同事来电说要去打GOLF.
那时刚躺下还想睡会呢。
去就去吧，没有热身。站在tee box前，感觉那个不一样呀，真有些第一打golf的样子。
于是第一个tee shot就OB. 以double bogery结束第一par 5.
却没想，自此stay fire。birdied第2个396 yards par 4, 然后2个pars in a row,
bogery一个par3, 接下来 double, 在par, par, 以4 over结束前9洞。
第2个double-bogery也发生在par5上。我和同事第一次在这个river lake golf course
打球，他对周围的房子非常感兴趣，也有一懂open house。他就取了个flyer, 上书
3340 sqt, 4 bed/ 3 bath, 3 garage，开价$1.1M. 他说要和他老婆商量把自己家的$
2M house卖掉，到这里买一幢。

hills golf course.
I teed off from Blue tee, 6398 yards, par 71, rating/slope is 72/138
something.
This is the most solid round golf I've ever played. I was able to shoot some
good scores, getting some up-and-downs. But I never played so consistent
like today.
Like I posted yesterday, scratch golfers usually shot 12-14 g.i.r。 I shot
solid 12 greens. I birdied 3 holes at back 9. Unfortunately missed two
birdes chances in fro |

昨天下午2个小时10个holes后的统计数据. Green in Regulation是我现在唯一追求的
数据。
上次和一个老人家Richard打球，他看我经常用3iron tee off那些360码一下的par 4,
问我为什么？我说我为了追求fairway hit的数据，他说那你应该用pitching wedge。
我3 iron tee off遇见一些硬些的fairway有230+的距离，剩下的130正好是我最喜欢的
pitching wedge 或9 iron的距离，多好！
与别人打球最恨的事，别人cheating. 在我眼里，breaking rule也可以，我们每天都
在做这样的事，反正都是打着玩的。最恨的就是和别人算分时cheating。
昨天打球时遇见一个本地社区大学的baseball球员，当然，非要和我竞赛，打那么差不
说，击了mullgan后不算，还振振有词说:sometimes, I do that.

在这2年golfing的日子里，我也遇见各样的人，他们说的一些话让我一直都记得。
- You look much better when you smile - 当你笑时你看起来好多了。
这句话发生在2005年的12月，在Phoneix和3位陌生人同组。 因为睡觉落枕，我的脖子
扭一定角度就痛得我呲牙咧嘴。 就这样我苦着脸打了一天直到第16洞，在我birdies该
洞他们一致赞扬时，我呲着牙笑了。
在完成18洞我们在果领上脱帽握手道别时，其中一位对我说了这一句话：You look
much better when you smile.
- He is a nice guy, I like him. - 他是个好人，我喜欢他。
