But in 2 times out of my last 3 birdies, I made triple bogey on the hole
right after the birdie. (the other was a bogey)
Yesterday it was an extreme case. I was playing back nine on a familiar (and
easy) course. Was +3 from hole 10 thru 16. Birdied on 16. Then tripled on
both 17 and 18 that I usually make par or bogey.
I was hoping for a +4 or +5 for 9 holes ended up getting a +9.
(+1, +2, 0, 0, +1, 0, -1, +3, +3)
I do not think I was too excited after the birdies.

最进看了些PROS的介绍，悟出了点
golf is to avoid big number for each hole, and not to 追求 birdie for each
hole.
以前跟朋友打，他每个洞记成绩都不写下来，我觉得 it is impossible to remember
all the scores, given i had some holes +3 or +4
后来明白了, 因为他每洞成绩起伏不大，基本都是加1减1，没有BIG NUMBER
虽然整场只有一两个BIRDIE，但总成绩很好 |

I jumped so high when I saw my first birdie.
That hole is just a lucky one. I chipped my ball in and got a birdie. (par 3).
The hole-in-one of the course happened over there, too. Of course, not me.
Meanwhile, got the other 91 score. 1 birdie, 3 pars, 5 bogeys, Rest of them
are...I don't want to tell.
Look at my first 9 holes, the average putting is 1.8; and in the back 9 holes,
the average putting is 2.5, which really hurt me.
Also, for 4 par 3s, which have the yardage around 150, |

Hehe, he plays consistently well. I have some problem with my swing and
mental lately. Since we put money in, it's
not easy to play with randy, he is very nice, tho. He doesn't want to lose
money, if I did contribute birdies, we
definitely will lose money. For the past round, I birdies 4 times, he made $
100+. for my 5 birdies, he lose 40$. |

各有一次 putting for eagle, basically 2 on par5, 一次 3putt, 一次 4putt
后来回想，当你有机会冲EAGLE的时候，我想所有的人可能都会跟我一样做GO FOR
EAGLE的一搏，搏完之后，一看，哦噢，BIRDIE也没了，只能保PAR
但两场各有一次BIRDIE，都是标ON，打算是两推保PAR，结果给推进了
再反观 british open, after Phil tie with Darren at 5 under, Phil missed few
key putts, while Darren made few remarkable putts. |

ability. I stopped playing on the course at the end of the last September
but started improving my short game through weekly routine practice since
then.
I restarted playing in the beginning of this year and found my game a lot of
better, even I lost 20 yards with my driver and 15 yards with my 3 wood. I'
ve never ever got an eagle, don't get too many double bogeys or triple often.

relaxed) that my putt from green-side rough (20 feet from pin) would go
straight in.
In the same round, had another chance for birdie at a 171 yard par 3 as my
3W got it on the green. (I am a short hitter). I ended up 3 putt.
A birdie is a birdie and i will take it no matter how I get it. |

now look back Dustin's course management on the last par5 hole.
he(-4) was 3 back from Darren(-7), and 265 yards to the green. Darren laid
up already. Dustin chose to go for the green, the ball went right, OB. If he
choose to lay up, and try to putt for birdie. He would give some pressure
to Darren.
Dustin is a loooong hitter, but 265 to the green still gave him tough time.
if caddie reminds him "Believe it or not, putting is where games are won and
lost" //kaka, he might choose to lay up. |

third time to 18 hole course. birdie one at hole15 196 yard. use my driver
hit over water, land on green and roll just the edge of green. i was not
sure to chip or putt at first. finally decide to putt, turn out to be a good
one.
you can see my driver can only carry me around 200, but with 98 total, i
feel not bad. |

turned out to be birdie and the ohter two were par. but other holes are
aweful. but anyway, i am so happy with that.
and my woods swing is better now, I try to swing like irons. it is a little
bit wierd but result is ok. need more pratice. |

I cant putt in even 5 feet . but normally 2 putt is enough for me once the

说来也奇怪, 放假是从Dec 20到Jan 4th, 整了3支新杆, 天天计划去打,
somehow, for all kinds of various reasons/execuses, kid/friend visit/weather
/friend cancellation/ski ..., didnt get a chance to play 18 hole at all.
played a 9-hole on jan 3rd by myself. missed two birdie chances before
coming to hole 6, finally made a long long big break putt on the same hole i
had my very first par.
就算是给整个WINTER BREAK化上了句号. |

But I will take your advice not to think any score at all next time.
I admit, when I got that birdie, I was thinking for a moment "if I get +4
for 9 it means I can get 80 (for 18) which would be a big achievement
considering I never broke 90" |

i guess depends on the green, if the green provides a lot of breaks, 2 putts
from 20- 40ft is kind of hard.
plus once you walk up green and find out birdie chances, more pressure to
putts well. aff used to write getting chip-in birdie, since chip-in is
less likely than putt-in birdie, so when chipping pressure is lower for make
birdie.
need to put more time practice putting too: intentially practice putt from
20-30ft, and putt from 1 |

course rating是看course handicap的指标。 113太简单了，现在还有几个场地不是
113以上的？
tournament 的场地都是130以上的（大多现在场地的程度，从back tee). pga
tournament的setup可能就不是score card上显示的来衡量了。
2-3 birdies/10 holes，取决球场也好，还是什么，其实总体来说，还是个平均值。这
才是检验一个球员水平的时候。
比如在很长的一段时间内，我打roy kizer球场， back 9 我总能至少2个birdie, 因为
都可以算着打出来的。
但换到对面的jimmy clay back 9, 就很难拿2个birdies. 因为我没法算着打出这个
back 9的birdie (par 5的球洞和fairway之间都有些障碍。）但front 9有4个洞
supposedly是birdies 机会。

e一个，就很快bogey一个。好在其他选手也在劳苦挣扎。Tiger一度领先第2名倒6杆
（好像是-12 vs -6)。
最后时刻Wetterich突然状态大升，使得比赛有点悬念了
俺个人认为最关键的一杆是Wetterich在第17洞没有推进birdie，按照他当时的状态
，应该没问题的，呵呵，也许是被Tiger的气势吓倒了吧
这样，在进入据说是今年美训赛最惨烈的一洞，蓝魔之魂，的时候，Tiger领先了3
杆。
Wetterich第一杆很漂亮就不说了，单说这3杆优势，让Tiger陡然保守，很明显地第
1杆就是为了上直道，俺看这架势就是奔bogey去的，呵呵
没想到Wetterich第2杆还是那么漂亮，陡然有了birdie的可能，比赛就好玩了。
在Tiger第4杆出手前，电视台很及时地重播了一个个球员在18洞，把球送入水中或
者草中的盛况。BTW，俺觉得那个洞杯的位置很明显就是要坑人得，呵呵。要是Tig
er没控制好力道和角度，嗯，double bogey是可能的，再加上Wetterich有birdi |

to me, the difference between birdie and bogey is your putting.
over the weekend, i played a round, 6 GIR, and 6 of them end up 3-putt,
total, got 7 3putts. it is very frustrating that for every birdie attempt
end up with bogey. good that i have 4 1putt which are all up and down save,
make me feel slightly better.
putting is the key to convert birdie. |

i was told that Woods won by 1 on 18. I was like 有人放水了吧
but after watching the hight lights, i feel that is very unlikely. Yeah, ZJ
might not have strong desire to win as GM did. for the outcome as right now,
everyone is happy. He is not stupid enough to make everyone unhappy.
But Woods still need to make the two birdies. You and me, play golf, know
how hard it is to make a birdie, and two birdies in a row, that is really

In the past, I never participated in betting on course, because I thought I
had enough stress already and golf was to relax. There were times that other
people playing with me betting small money with each other and I did not
get involved. I did feel that I was left "out" in such cases.
When I played this round, I knew I would put the scorecard here so I started

There were several holes he reached green in one and two putted for
birdie. He missed a 4-foot birdie putt at 17 and a couple of other
close birdie putts.
If he plays like this, I think he will easily win the Open. But I will
not bank on that given his late-round performance in both the Masters
and the US Open. |

/135 (something like that)
hit lots of fairways, half of the greens ( i guess ), always within 10 feet
when hit greens. didn't make any birdie until the last par 5. actually, I
would say i had the birdies chances for all par 5s. My putting stroke was
just not there.
bogeyed the first hole because of the 3 putts. and bogeyed the #8 par 3.
double-bogeyed the #10 due to..don't know. lost my mind..

i thought I could win one skin and one close-to-pin at a 230 yards par 3. My

hit driver like shit, except last hole. body was too tired.
i just managed to get some up-and-down, and birdied the holes i am supposed
to do.

bogeyed 1st 2-holes since i didn't have any time to warm up. then d-b one
par-3 at back 9. birdied the last par-3. could be some chance for winning
skins.
it's really windy today. like 30 mph from north. it made so difficult for
playing back-9 since there are 5-hole in a row playing into the wind. for
one 420-yard par4, I hit driver+5wood (choke-down tho), my ball was just pin
-high.

比较容易出birdie的是五杆洞，尤其是五百吗左右的五杆洞，如果距离够的话两杆击上
果岭，birdie就基本到手了。 |

GIR 7/9，推杆不太好，最远推进的距离是十尺，有一个八尺的birdie putt没推进。
后九洞，滥得不得了，为数不多的几个亮点，一是225码的三杆洞三号铁第一落点击中
旗杆，可惜未能抓住小鸟；二是一个45尺推进的birdie putt；三是505码的五杆洞两杆
击上果岭离旗20尺，可以eagle putt擦边而过。 |
