国内一名青年老师来Harvard surgical planing laboratory交流一年,想在附近找一

正准备递稿了,在上面两个之间徘徊。前者似乎IF 稍稍高一些,可是它的字数限制很
大,后者IF 稍稍低一些 (2.409 vs. 2.657), 可是文章的长度可以长好多。所以不想
把自己的文章缩得太多,想投到 Annals 去。问问大家对这个杂志怎么评价的?还有没
有其它的推荐?

新进这个领域?IF的那点区别你都在乎?
这两个的侧重点不同,文章的长度不是重点呀,
你写那么长难道就表示牛??

做Biomechanics还是投前者。
一般的BME的topic可以考虑后者,但其实影响没有前者好。
只是有点沾边,不是专业建议。

有点variation没有什么不好呀,

点都不牛。。。以前在JB上发过,就感觉长度要求很严的。目前这一个已经写好了,想
偷点懒,不想大幅改了。自己感觉JB比较popular一些,对ABME 不是很了解,所以问问
。文章做的东西不光是和 biomechanics 有关,应该说对biomedical engineering 都
有些相关,所以从这个角度来说, ABME 也是要更适合谢。

圣诞节回国(12/23 - 1/16),想出租给来纽约短期玩的朋友。
公寓位于上东区(81 street和York ave)一室一厅和一个卫生间。离77站-6 line大概
走路10分钟。门口有到地铁6号线的公交。
15分钟步行到中央公园,大都会博物馆,第五大道,公交(Taxi <$10)到Time
square, Bryan Park (免费冰场), NBC, Rockfeller Center.
上东区最有名的就是各种餐馆,酒吧和bakery...(中餐,法餐,意大利和日本居酒屋)
。还有很好吃的Creperie,和shake shark... 附近的 86街有两个电影院(AMC),和
很多服装店。晚上很安全(全纽约最安全的区之一吧),我女朋友 每天晚上10点钟
从地铁站走回来。
房子不大但很温馨(见照片,也没有故意去为了拍照收拾 :))
我们有所有的生活必需品,厨房用品,冰箱电视,沙发,咖啡壶。。。和一切我平时自己
用的用品。家里有暖气, 街角有洗衣房,洗衣篓和洗衣液我们都有。

我住在山下,每天都要花一个半小时去爬一趟山当作锻炼身体,美国人之所
谓hiking。按iphone6自带软件的测算,每走一趟,共15000步,10公里,相当于
爬70层楼高。有一些人担心,每天都这么走,膝盖受得了吗?更有人言之凿凿,
某某年轻时喜欢爬山,年老膝盖就得了关节炎。关节炎极为常见,根据美国疾控
中心的报道,18岁以上的美国人有22.7%患有关节炎,年龄越大,患病比例越高,
65岁以上的美国人有一半患有关节炎。[文献1]身体最容易出现关节炎的部位是
膝盖。几乎一半的美国人早晚都会得膝骨关节炎,肥胖者会得膝骨关节炎的比例
则高达三分之二。[文献2]所以喜欢爬山的人,难免有很多后来膝盖会得关节炎,
然后就很容易把病因归咎于爬山。
关节炎有很多种,最常见的是骨关节炎。骨关节炎是关节发生了退行性病变
所致,由于损伤或反复的撞击让关节软骨磨损越来越厉害,变得越来越薄,最终
关节两头的骨骼失去了软骨的缓冲,直接撞到一起。人们想当然地以为,下肢的

UIC的方向工作好找一些吧。
我是原来传统化工转到biomedical engineering方向的。biomed的工作机会少
一些,集中在医疗器械设计和biomech方向。不过将来想走学术方向的话,
biomedical engineering的机会可能多些

我见过好几个呢,做reviewer,发paper再加上多一些文章和推荐信基本上都能DIY了。
不过现在机械这行也就biomech,mems,fuel几个方向比较能发文章灌水,别的像控制,
热能等方向毕业前能有2~3篇journal就算很牛了。

这个更偏向于材料学,毕竟比较专精有很多new topic,搞研究不错,MEMS主要是跨学
科跨的什么专业都能沾上边,EE, ME, physics, biomech都在弄,内容太杂,自然不好
找工作

看大家讨论的热火朝天, 我也来凑凑热闹.谈不上经验, 自己从biomechancis这个"非主
流me专业"进入device 这个"非主流ME"行当不到三年,磕磕碰碰,总觉得需要多找高手交流指点
,今天希望能抛砖引玉..
医疗器材行业范围实在很广,FEA主要集中在ortho,cardio两个行当,(我)主要的工作是
针对Product Development的failure analysis & optimization.device 要FDA批
准,需要经过一系列的标准和非标准的测试.这也是Design 的唯一safety criteria. FEA
optimization的目的就是分析prototype测试失效的原因,建议改进的策略,再分
析,prototyping, 测试..
因为prototyping和一些fatigue, wear测试耗时耗力,所以fea就有了用武之地.还有现
在手术都讲究 minimal invasive, implant尽量小薄轻,即使设计很多时候
