What do you do in Bioeng?
I graduated from Bioeng at UW. Its ranking is exaggrated. I think every one
does that, though.
UM has a better reputation than UW if not in the northwest.
From the point of life, actually, school does not matter much. Life quality
is affected little by school. Focus on the life. It benefits. |

主要还是内部学科分支都太新太杂,缺乏内在联系,二十年之后可能会改善。 |

Nod. As far as I know, there were five first prize that
year. One from BioEng (should be you, right?, taught by Chen
Yingnan), one from FineChem (taught by Huang Jie), one from
ChemEngProc and two from ChemEng (taught by Fang Tunan). I
guess the guy from ChemEngProc should be taught by Ni
Fusheng. Confused!
Also, there were no foreign students in Fang's 93 class.
There were some in Dai4 Gan4 Ce4's Fluid Mechanics class. |

个老美的女教授,在农业工程专业里,他们刚在Biotechnol.Bioeng.上发了一篇paper,主
要是用牛胃里的细菌做为anode bacteria,俺去年开会的时候见过他们的那个first
author,聊了几句,做的东西算比较起步的. Oregon State是两个中国教授,在
Biological system engineering里,Liu Hong是Bruce logan以前的postdoc,她算Logan
组里MFC的奠基人之一了,发了N多EST paper,到了OSU后,刚有一篇发在J. Power Souces
,另一个中国教授应该是和Liu Hong合作搞MFC的.至于MFC的前景,俺前面说过了,前途光
明,道理曲折. 想去工业届,做MFC的不行,还没哪个公司真正在做,都是大学和国家,军方
的实验室在做. |

非常得辛苦。
如果你只是觉得工科锻炼思维,那我可以告诉你,其实工科一点都不锻炼逻辑,工科有
一个非常死板的逻辑关系,因为你想,你做出来的东西是非常非常应用的,所以给你创
新的部分其实就那么多。不然你回家问问你爸爸妈妈,学工科的人到最后都是机器,完
全没有创造性,英文叫做rigid。其实医学也有一点这么个意思,但是关键是,工科的
逻辑关系和医学里面的逻辑关系又是两个系统。
你要考医学院,gpa和mcat是最最最最重要得两个部分,你一旦学了工科,你gpa就要恨
辛苦才能维持那个分数了,姑娘我怕你到后来没信心啊,我认识这样最后没办法就放弃
了得姑娘,可惜啊。
而且说真得,如果真的要锻炼逻辑,你应该去学哲学,或者学法律,那是最锻炼逻辑思
辩的。
或者,你现在就去学学看物理,你看物理里面教你的思考问题的方式你能不能接受,物
理算是所有工程里面最基础的学科了,如果物理里面一步一步推导求证一点点apply的
方法你都没有办法弄明白,你学生工会恨辛苦。
