Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs on Wednesday resigned as chief executive of
Apple Inc in a stunning move that ended his 14-year reign at the technology
giant he co-founded in a garage.
Apple shares were suspended from trade before the announcement. They had

The debate over Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone continues this morning as we head
toward the company’s fiscal Q2 report this evening.
AT&T‘s (T) report that it activated 4.3 million iPhones in its Q1 that
ended in March is being received poorly by some on the Street.
Peter Misek with Jefferies & Co. reiterates a Buy rating on Apple shares,
but writes that he had to cut his estimates for Apple’s outlook for the

Shares of Apple (AAPL) are weaker than the overall market this morning,
falling $14.15, or 2.6%, to $531.93 compared to the 1.4% drop in the Nasdaq
Composite Index.
One rumor making the rounds this morning is that funds may be trimming their
position in Apple in order to prepare to re-weight their index
representation to accomodate Facebook, which will at some point be added to
indices after it goes public tomorrow morning.
