Ethiopian Airlines flight 409 disappeared off radar screens shortly after
leaving Beirut International Airport (OLBA) enroute to Addis Ababa (HAAB)
early Monday morning. Eyewitness reports indicate the 737 may have impacted
in the Mediterranean Sea.
An unnamed source at the Lebanese Civil Aviation Authority confirmed the
incident to the New York Times: "Yes, the plane crashed into the sea off
Lebanon."
