e********t 发帖数: 9607 | 2 现在harbor freight和floor and decor outlet都有$150左右的flooring nailer卖。
|
h******2 发帖数: 102 | 3 I used finish nailer to do first and last rows (face nailing).
I blind-nailed by finish nailer the rest of rows where air nailer can not be
used. Yhis way you only have nail holes on 2 rows (1st and last rows).
For wide baseboards, brad nails are normally too samll and too short. Finish
nails are better in my opinions (2' long). You really want to nail into
studs not into drywall. |

|
K******S 发帖数: 10109 | 12 what I did was to make a mark with a nail on baseboard. Then just fire at
that position. |
|
fill/sand/caulk/prime/paint/clean是最花时间的.

I used table saw to cut 12' baseboards because I did not want to buy a miter

long boards when the blade is doing its work). |

But you sure like to offer opinions on things you really do
not know well. On a table saw, how can you push a really long board if you
want to miter cut it? that is the job for a miter saw (you fix the board and
move the blade to miter cut it).
I actually did use table saw to cut 12' baseboards for miter and bevel cuts.
But the results were not good because it was very hard to push the long
boards through the blade and extremely dangerous.

h******2 发帖数: 102 | 19 this is for 胡core: since you will use your old baseboards after hardwood

miter cut guild.
Many thanks for your Baozi. I just saw them. BTW, what can I do with Baozi? |

h******2 发帖数: 102 | 20 table saw with miter cut is a must for hardwood floor. But
if you want to replace old baseboards with new ones, it is good to have a
miter saw as well.
If you are good at circular saw, it it enough for hardwood floor DIY. But
you must be really good at circular saw (know how to rip cut straight long
boards) in a safe way (it is more dangerous for a new DIYer than a table saw
in my opinion). |

h******2 发帖数: 102 | 21 we are talking about baseboards as long as 12', not 2 M lumber. 2 M is fine
of course. Now you got it? |

h******2 发帖数: 102 | 22 There are many cases where you can not leave 1-2' to hold the lumber. For

|

Fiberglass insulation和Expansion foam。

Heat pump works by sucking energy from ambient air/soil. The conventional
ones start losing their efficiency when it's below 47°F, and have to fall
back on electric heating, which got low efficiency than gas/oil heating.
Good news is that newer heat pumps can be optimized for low temperature and
keep their full capacity as low as 14 °F. I figure, the moral is, don't
replace it if it ain't broken, because the better are always coming. |
|
m***y 发帖数: 14763 | 43 Essentially, it's 暖气片 with casement. Could be steam, forced hot water,
electric resistance or convection. |

m***y 发帖数: 14763 | 44 Agree, geothermal might work in NJ. But in New England, the frost line is at
