space is hardly ever an issue for me, except once when I used a 35L pack for
a weekend trip carrying avy beacon, shovel, probe, crampons, ski crampons,
ice axe.
another tip is not to not to pack hard and sharp objects next to the pack
walls or at the bottom. otherwise they will poke on the pack. |

avalanche than most of my climbing and skiing friends. In the spring,
whenever the avy danger level is above yellow, I stay in bound or hit the
crag.

只要按照要求做，能救活的肯定也就活了，救不活的基本上就没戏了。CPR最后其实要
的是体力。
上次看到一个报道，说一个女的给她丈夫做了一个小时CPR然后救活了，佩服死我了。

the woody slope, there is a 40-50 meter traverse which is prone to avalanche
. That's pretty much the only place in the whole area that you need to worry
about. Be carefully on Sunday, that's when the avy danger will be increased. |

We spent two days in Tatoosh range in Mt.Rainier National Park. It was
snowing all the time. We got soaked, we got cold, but we had fun.
On day 1, we hiked to the camp site near reflection lake, built camp, then
climbed up to the Castle-Pinnacle saddle, found a nice slope and did two
laps.
The avy danger was between moderate and considerable. We dug a sno |

We got up next morning and found our tents were almost buried by heavy snow.
Cooking and having breakfast in the sheltered kitchen, we discussed what to

considerable/high on steep slope due to the heavy snowfall, our activities

there for years.
The best part of the resort is summit chair to Honeycomb Canyon, as shown in
the pic. It was opened late afternoon because of avy control. So we had
some untracked or barely tracked fresh powder and in the woods and the
afternoon wheather was fantastic too!
Loved it.
The only bad part is the paking lot was taken by the condos and you have to
walk longways to get on the chairs. |

Meadows avalanche incident on March 31th, 1982.
It says in the book:"It was snowing as hard as it could possibly snow.";
Patrol found themselves in the snow deep as armpit.
As my own experience of last season:
20090301 storm day in kirkwood
20090308 blue sky day in squaw with good snow
20090322 last resort ski trip of the season canceled due to CA88 avy control
I would say there are 50% chance of seeing some powder in March |

变成一个个小池塘了。早上天气超好，下午快关门的时候下了Sleet/rain，最后一趟都
看不清路，翻了3个滚。
Northway的地形很好，人也少。早上Powder bowl有Avy control，下午没来得及赶上。 |
