EXEL 早期开发策略是利用他们的高通量药物筛选平台，得到一批针对不同肿瘤信号通
路的化合物，然后通过license 和 partner 的方式和大公司结盟，换取一定的revenue
, 他们自己也选一些比较有希望的化合物做临床试验。在经历了一系列早期临床试验失
败后，EXEL 找到了一个非常有希望的化合物 Cabozantinib (XL184), XL184 能同时阻
断MET 和 VEGF 信号，(MET信号和肿瘤迁移有密切关系，VEGF信号和肿瘤血管生成相关
)。 在1／2期临床中显示，XL184 对多种肿瘤都有治疗效果。（94%的乳腺癌病人显示
肿瘤退化，81％的肝癌患者有肿瘤退化，60％ 黑色素瘤有治疗效果，肺癌病人反应率
是13％）
2011年10月XL184 完成了对甲状腺癌的三期临床，结果很好，median 存活时间从4个月
延长到 11.2月， 公司预计2012年下半年向FDA审批。2013药物上市 （这个market 不
