AppleWorks?
For now it's ClarisWorks (v. 5.0v1).
When Claris was shut down in January, the engineering team was finishing an
update to 5.0v1, named 5.0v2 in the traditional Claris scheme. 5.0v2 has
not seen the light of day except for some educational institutions that
were encountering the specific problems it addressed. Meanwhile, the team
continued work on what will now be known as AppleWorks 6.0, but this

The flipping of the millennial odometer hardly cripples
AppleWorks/ClarisWorks, but you should be aware that you must treat
certain years specially or you may not get the results you desire.
Prior to the year 2000, when used as dates in spreadsheet cells and
database fields, the digits 11 through 99 will be recognized as 1911
through 1999. 00 through 10 will be recognized as 2000 through 2010.

partly included in the upcoming Mac OS 8.7 release this fall. That means
users who upgrade to 8.7 will be able to view AND input Chinese (and many of
the other world languages) in all WorldScript-compliant applications.

In the ongoing struggle to keep my HD organized, I would like to be able to
"attach" Stickies (Post-It notes) to certain folders. Apple's Stickies only
float on the Desktop.
Does any app exist that makes it possible to drag a Stickie into a folder
and when the folder is opened the open Stickie is "floating", & moveable, on
top of the folder's contents. IOW, it would be "attached" to the inside of
the folder but would be independent of the folder's contents or views. The

1961 - Professor Richard Mattessich was the first to develop a computerized
spreadsheet.
1978 - Robert Frankston & Dan Bricklin invented VisiCalc, the first
