护和开发trader的excel工具，这个听起来很像传统的desk quant,但是猎头说是it组。
这个银行只有quant research，负责开发library,应用的部份都是developer在弄。明
白的人帮着说说这个到底这两个有什么区别呢？是不是猎头忽悠我啊，刚开始找工作没
啥经验，不知道这个去了前景怎样... |

for the NYC office - of course, if also knowing business, the 3-legged
talents would be best. Having said that, NYC office is silo-ed, that prevent
ppl there becoming ppl mgr, thus it is an option for mid-level subject
matter expert only - not for entry, not for senior |

似乎不用写太多程序，因为有单独的开发部门
面试的时候大约问了研究经历，一些SQL问题，一些编程问题和一些统计/数学题
问题都比较常规，能想起来的有：
SQL/DB--调整日期格式，inventory/sales record数据库设计
统计/数学/智力题--MLE，binomial distribution，扔俩鸡蛋的问题，五局三胜比赛下
赌注的问题
编程--非常简单，各位看到会笑的，比如recursion算阶乘什么的。。。。

Load data: 貌似用的是Teradata, 所以和这里相关的就是如何用SAS data step或SAS
PROC SQL从Teradata里读large data set?
teradata 用data step 那是找死。用纯sql,或是用proc sql send 纯sql.后期用什么
关系不大。
3. Job ad里强调了很多business reporting相关，这个也是要用SAS来做的吧，该怎么
准备

4. Relational Database一般会怎么问？比如要求讲述怎样设计一个marketing retail
database?

我现在有两个offer，都是做marketing analytic 和一些business modeling.不知道这
方面前景如何呢？国内在这方面的前景又怎么样？因为打算以后也可能回国。两个
offer选起来也比较纠结。 一个在加州，工作压力大，人员流动强，好多中国的fresh
master（也包括我），project manger 和大老板都是phd. 大老板是印度人，面试的时
候就觉得有些工作狂那种，我周日给他发邮件，他十分钟立马就回了。 而且感觉他们
会根据你的表现再考虑要不要给你办工作签证，稳定性比较差。 优点就是地点好，整
个team也很professional，所以竞争也比较大，但应该成长的很快。另一个在michigan
, 美国老板，工作压力相对小，地方比较荒凉，所以工作效率比较慢，但绝对是比较有
名的大公司，公司很稳定，很多雇员都是40岁左右那种养家糊口的。缺点就是我这个职
位是新设立的，之前没人做过，我一个新人，从来没工作过，担心没人带我，不知道能
不能开展好我的工作。优点就是他们还是很想给我办h1b的，虽然两家都要看表现，但

感觉这个前景很好，近几年需求很大，但会越来越往business结合，以前都是学数学学
统计的人做这个，现在商学院出来做这个的越来越多，所以现在fresh graduate很多都
可以找到工作，但未来可能经验越来越重要，找工作可能越来越难
国内起步比美国慢，但是像上海这种地方需求也已经开始很大了，所以国内发展也是不
错的，个人觉得哪里工作差不多吧 |

药厂：IL的大药厂，职位是contract statistician, 面试只有一轮，没什么复杂的内
容，我对具体分工还不是特别了解，但我感觉大公司比较structured,有资深的
statistician带，跳槽的话有大公司的经验也比较好跳，32/hour
小公司：TX的小consulting firm，刚成立一年，目前五六个人，主要做
pharmaceutical与healthcare industry的commercial analytics, forecasting和
strategy planning，主要处理medical records和claims data，founders是大咨询公
司跳出来创业的，我会是负责modeling的主力(其他人负责strategy,vba programming,
client delivery等)，base 55k+bonus(1k-2k/
month possibly),承诺会请律师完全支持办H1b（但他们本身对H1b不是非常熟）

发帖数: 61 | 50 学校里面有这两种硕士，我看了课程安排，analytics就是有统计加计算机加上一些数
据处理的课。感觉什么都学一点。
而统计的硕士感觉能更深入系统地学习统计的东西。
我个人更偏向于统计硕士，觉得可以转各种数据的方向，发展更广。
而直接的数据分析硕士，虽然名字好听，感觉不是很实际。因为数据分析的职业其实最
重要的是domain knowledge,这在学校学不到的。
请大家指教一下。。。 |
