本科在某211大学读电子商务，这专业大家也知道，基本啥都不精，大学毕业后在国企
干了几年，当所谓的项目经理，整天PPT向各色老板汇报，到处拆东墙补西墙。前两年
跟老公出国在湾区，怀孕生孩子，现在孩子断奶了，决定在附近大学读一个master，就
申了经济学硕士。
我知道在湾区想找一份工作，最简单的就是CS，我申请经济学主要有两个原因。
一是我编程是个战五渣，这点在大学本科就有深刻体会并产生了心理阴影。我完全不能
理解为什么很多文科MM也能把CS读下来，这只能说那些MM只是凑巧读了文科，其实她们
读什么都没问题。我在湾区大概还待四五年，之后就回国或者去美国其他地方。就算我
潜力爆发读下CS，这辈子也不会成为什么技术小牛，估计就是个entry level的，这在

再多经验都没有用。人家一看就知道是理论上的理解。而且META-ANALYSIS本身是个统
计的TOOL，但如果做META-ANALYSIS的话，则是一个综合能力。就是说，你在学术界看
到了一个什么问题（多数情况是有什么MIXED FINDINGS)，但没有条件做实验或者学科
来说，时间上不允许做实验，然后你就总结这个问题相关的文章，这些文章做了什么，
怎么做的，SAMPLE SIZE，STUDY GROUP，结论是什么，EFFECT SIZE是多少等等。然后
你针对这个问题，提出一个SOLUTION，然后GUIDE FUTURE STUDY。一般来说，做META-
ANALYSIS的文章，一般也要比较多。我不记得MINIMUM的要求了，但我看过的META-
ANALYSIS来说，一般都有50+。
如果说你参与了很多META-ANALYSIS的项目，不如把项目写上去，把你在项目
中DEVELOP的SKILLS写出来，会更好。 |

那我要把survival analysis深入研究一下。
naïve bayes 好像是 classification 的方法。很简单易用，有效。但其难度和
理论应用的广度比真正的bayesian analysis差远了。通常不归在bayesian analysis。
当初学bayesian analysis， 要先学EM 和 sampling, 洋洋上百页的讲义，连
empirical bayes 都只有一页。naïve bayes 根本没提。 但是bayesian 方法即
使在统计中都是小众。它的广度只是理论上的。
这个版有点冷清，全靠你了。其实，我觉得data science很值得交流，就算是需要不少
编程知识，大家只要看清方向，多交流，也会提高比较快，用不了一两年就可以实用了 |

google了一把，好像要NumPy and SciPy。但是目前python是2.6， 3.0 版本。numpy只
支持到2.5。看看python 2.6的目录，好像有扔掉numpy自己开发numerical analysis,
data structure这些东西的意思。非常迷惑。请高手给讲讲目前的形势。如果python一
伙人不能够团结起来很快把这些package搞好，就用c++了。所以请高手给推荐几个权威

analysis是数学系的必修课程，一般工程类专业都不需要 |

Today i was reading a paper on wavelet time series analysis, the author
summerized Fourier analysis as follows:
Traditional Fourier analysis partitions the total power (variance) of the
time series between sinusoidal components at different frequencies.
I think it's neat. |
