今年夏天的alpine rock很不爽，现在再回WY没时间了，WA一个quick trip还是可以的
不是off-width的话5.9 follow没问题，lead要看情况
$265机票，加local有人帮忙的话，实际上并不是很贵 |

发帖数: 180 | 18 I assume you are aware of the permitting reality/hassle for alpine lakes
area. Your choices might be limited depending on how fast you move. Set
specific goals and make detailed plans. Daylight is much shorter now and
if you plan to do long routes that you are not familiar with, a bivy on
route won't be too surprising. If you choose to do Dragontail, make sure
you are aware of the conditions on your descent. Read my recent TR posted
here.

state or otherwise cannot schedule our regular BACC course. It compresses
the regular course into 11 continuous and full days. Participants will need
to read all the assigned pages of Freedom of the Hills and be in full
condition by June 15. First Aid, Stewardship and Navigation requirements are
not included and must be scheduled by students themselves separately.

Crag climbing， sports climbing, water ice, advanced alpine, aid/big wall,
small party self rescue, multi pitch efficiency等都是有基础之后的各个专项。
不过外地的确实时间没法弄。Club里面的instructor基本都是volunteer，不是靠教课
挣钱的guide，都是业余时间的爱好，weekend warrior，你也不能要求人连着教一星期
课。
这次的intense课instructor怎么弄的我不清楚，summit应该知道。 |

这个听上去真是不靠谱啊。如果感觉这么不好，为什么要硬着头皮上呢？ 能不能登顶
Rainier算是微不足道的吧？为了这么微乎其微的事情把命搭上岂不是不值？ 我老说爬
山和打牌一样都是娱乐(就算你不工作，拿了赞助专玩这个也是玩），所以不能因为娱
乐而挂掉。
我个人认为没有必要轰轰烈烈地鼓动大家去登山，因为并不是每个人都具有爬山应该有
的common sense, sound judgement, and the willingness to suffer through
hardship。如果谁喜欢玩这个，那么自然会找到组织，找到机会的。this is a free
country with abundant opportunities. 说道组织，且不提american alpine club,
mountaineers, Mazamas这样全国性、地区性的组织，就是这个mitbbs/outdoor也是一
个很好的平台。我在这里这里遇到了好几个攀冰的搭档，如果将来有条件的化，我会和
他们一起去爬大山的。 |

Meadowes CA. As Mooth said, it will be spring conditions. I think you'd
better off with Squaw Valley. At least Shirley Lake and Granite Chief will
have snow.
Better yet, Mammoth will have the best snow in this time of the year. You mind as well fly out there. |

后来借别人的手机，两部电话都放口袋里。测出来的速度能差4倍左右
下山的时候在车里对照车速表，我的alpine replay显示的速度明显慢很多。不知道有
没有人遇到这种问题？ |

7 ft. 5-3/4 in. Resin Storage Shed for $174.03 on clearance. Apparently
suncast changed something for this years model so these have been put on
clearance. The new ones were already there for $799. I can find them on
their website, but the tracker is the only way I found them in stock.
Somebody help me out with the links needed as I am not sure how to do that.

我发现每次有关于tele的帖子，很多朋友都有兴趣，但是持有的信息都不完整，我就顺
便来纠正一些偏颇的观点吧: (码这么多字，版主帮mark一下吧）
首先要区分telemark gear vs alpine touring gear和telemark turn vs alpine turn
这两个不同层面上的范畴，你可以在telemark gear上做tele turn和alpine turn，可
以在AT gear上做alpine turn甚至是tele turn.
如果是说tele turn vs alpine turn, 相比alpine turn, tele turn是一种很不
efficient的转弯/吸能的方式，其特点是在alpine turn主要基于edge change的基础上
，增加了一个lead change的维度(dimension)和多一个pivot point的维度, 其实
alpine turn也可以lead change, 只是在大多数雪况下影响不是很明显而已。 所以... 阅读全帖 |
