另一方面，在事发近一周后，传出当时有纽约市警局卧底探员在现场，却因担心身分暴露而没有立即出面干预或报案，相关司法单位已展开调查。美联社报导，这名探员已找来律师保护，纽约市警局风纪处已在调查他当时有无目击攻击。这名警探已被取消配枪与佩带执勤警徽。
警方还在瞭解有多少骑士当时参与攻击，连日来传讯多名在场骑士比对指认。另有报导并指当时现在还有不少休班狱警也参与骑士活动，坐视目击连姓华人遭攻击而未采取阻止行动。
事发时，艾利先?连因为担心妻女安全，曾试图加速冲出重围，意外撞到一名机车骑士，使其嵴椎裂伤，有瘫痪之虞，艾利先?连也因此受到一些批评。

keep moving. No time to think of anything.
For a front drive car if both front tires gone, then car may dead.
But 4x4 Range Rover, is originally designed as real off-road SUV. it has
high bottom clearance. Maybe it is upgraded with big wheels. Moving has no
problem.
