最近得悉，著名心理學家 Albert Ellis 於七月以超過九十二歲的高齡與世長辭了。
Ellis 是一個非常多產而且富有活力的心理學家，就是過了九十歲他仍繼續寫作。我自
己也是在大概兩年前才認識他的「理情行為治療法 (Rational Emotive Behavioral
Therapy, 簡稱 REBT )」。這個方法，對我來說是一種震撼。理由之一是因為這種方法
真是非常簡單，而且有效。REBT 的方法，是一種從眼前發生的事件(event)，然後捉緊
當前內心的感覺(feeling)。即它非常強調引起強烈情緒的事件，並利用這些誘發事件
(activating events)，來發掘我們背後所帶有的信念 (belief)。通常我們感到不開心
，並不是因為外間的事件所致，而是自己內心怎樣演繹。所以「他令我很憤怒」是不對
的，因為「他（或他的行為）」不可能令你憤怒，而是我們自己帶有一些信念，並用這
些信念來演繹「他」的行為。最後，是「信念」令一個人憤怒。

1) 当年IT在Indians打球，Hallowen时候两小孩骚扰AB家，往他家扔臭鸡蛋，
Belle急了，开着truck出去追人家小孩，把人家从自行车上给撞下来了。
2) AB的first name曾经叫Joey, 因为IT酗酒，在戒酒rehab时把名字由Joey改成
Albert了。 后来有回一个摄影记者这么叫他Joey，他拿棒球拽人家。从此落下
一个外号: Albert "don't call me Joey" Belle
4) 在IT大学生涯时(LSU)， 因为他和一个扇子意见不合，要上看台打人家，结果
