发帖数: 25 | 1 版上化工方面的面试贴子好像不多，偶发一贴面经，希望对各位同行老大们有帮助。
本人情况：CHE 东部非名校phd, process control 方向。
投简历：偶看到ExxonMobil 招process control application engineer，跟俺的研究
方向比较附合，就发了简历。正好该部门的头头在AICHE上听过我老板做的报告，对我
们做的东西比较有兴趣。接着phone screen，因为做的东西相关，所以聊了很久，大概
1个半小时，当场就说俺会在他的interview candidates 的list上。
面试：电面了快一个月也没有一点消息，俺以为已经没希望了。突然来email让偶去
Baytown, TX去面试。面试部门是ExxonMobil chemical的core engineering, 过程一共
两天，第一天下午到，然后和接待的人吃饭，第二天是正式面试，先30分钟
presentation和30分钟提问题； 然后和大小老板及各位group member一对一的谈， 然
后下午飞回家。
偶一下飞机就去找接偶的limo driver，结果转了三 |

我给lz分析一下子啊
一般来说，phd+大公司，eb1b基本是没跑的。给楼主三年到四年的时间，攒上一些经验
，再加上绿卡，这就是可进可退啊。以后不管经济形式怎么样，lz都会多一个选择。最
重要的是，你现在离绿卡已经很近了，不说你phd已经混了起码5年了，再多四年又能怎
么样呢？
咱们往高端点说，你说要回去早建立人际关系。但是在美国就建立不了吗？aiche有点
面太宽了，你只是做电池的，但是一年两回的ECS，你其中可是能认识不少人。你人在
美国，回国开会，是怎样个便利条件和反过来，是怎样个条件，这事就不用说太细了吧。
往低端点说，如果你在美国抓紧造人，你孩子以后是不是也可以多一个选择呢？而且国
内生孩子，各种手续还多
当然，你自己的主观意愿最重要。
再多说一句，你们上海没房，如果没有50w的package话，你要有对经济压力的心理准备 |

我的意思是，要去高校发展学术得牛，学术牛博士期间就该发点什么东西出来吧。
nature有点夸张，Jacs,aiche j. physical review letter,jfm 这种总得有一小批吧
。有这种货的就给个讲师？
这种硬货没有，学术八成不行，那么去作讲师就期望横向纵向的拿项目，风生水起？搞
笑吗？ |

见笑不敢，纯属交流，
我承认，文章这种事情确实不一定能客观反映出一个人的真实水平，当然跟具体项目和
组有关。
但是总体来说一个人如果学术让特别有造诣的话，博士期间不可能就是平平的几篇论文
，当然你如果做大的工程项目可能文章确实不多，但是至少项目在那里。
JACS AICHE J,,这种其实并不算太难，如果确实有做学术的天分，就是组再不行，自己
舞弄舞弄也能用一两个吧，加上一大堆差一点的杂志，简历上一般都不会太难看。我知
道的一个土博，老板可能不大行，自己设计实验项目，自己掏钱买药品做，结果真的做
出两篇jacs,直接留校正教授，博导，现在据说风生水起。
欧洲的情况我不是特别清楚，不敢多说，但是我审过的稿子，很多也是欧洲人在灌水，
而且同一个东西，各大杂志转圈灌一边，而且题目写得吓死人。当然你可以说是少数现
象。
如果是致力于学术生涯的人，即使在不爱发论文的环境中，就是idea多，就是努力，你
就写然后投呗，难道老板还不让你投吗？
所以我还是坚持我自己的观点，如果学术牛，适合搞学术，博士期间或者加上点薄厚，
文章肯定差不了，这样的去学校要个副教授以上应该没问题吧。当然很有可能也有就是

type. Anyway I suppose if you have enough fund for doing this, chances are you
will get everything going smoothly.
According to the chemical companies catalog, I suggest you consult the
AICHE by email or other ways, maybe they have some sort of things like that.

会议: 美国的12个，都是一作，ACS, APS, MRS, AICHE年会类的会议，中国的6个，其

Citation: 总共100左右，独立的应该有90左右，有的文章几十个，有的文章只有1－2个
Review: 14次（影响因子从五点几到一点几都有，10个杂志，有英国，挪威，德国，新
加坡，美国等）
打算争取在2－3个月以内把review增加到20个以上。大家看看EB-1A有戏吗？文章是不
是太少，大家有什么建议？多谢

AIChE is a decent organization in my area. I definitely want to use this
senior memebership for something. Since we have decided not to claim a
membership (already have 3 claims for EB1-B), I am wondering if I can use
this membership to support the "contribution" claim?

五封推荐信：两封非独立分别为我的博士老板和前一个工作的CEO (小公司才30来个人）
三封独立为2个中国 1个泰国
其他无报道无亮点
Timeline:
前期律师搞o1花了半年我就不废话了

没法输入数字“1”啊，大家怎么填的？
2. Part 2，question 2 INA section 245（i），我考古后这一行是不是填NO？
3. Part 3，question 1，应该问的是以前有没有申请过移民签证，不是这一次，所以
No？
4. Employment history现在的工作没有明确结束日期，所以Date to怎么填啊。还有
Phd五年期间一直在做RA是不是也要填上
5. 第八部分那些criminal violation，如果只有speeding ticket ($500以下）是不是
没必要填？
还有问Membership的， AIChE，ACS这些也填上

485上参加过的ASSOCIATIONS里面填吗？
另外我读PHD时曾在中国学生会（CSSA）里任职，找工作时把这个放简历里了，后来交
PERM还是140时也附了这封简历。也就是说这个学生会的经历在我的移民档案里可能会
有。那我现在也必须在485里写这个经历吗? 也不是什么大事，就是担心以后
BACKGROUND CHECK会耽误时间。
请问大家对曾经的MEMBERSHIP(尤其是PERM/140简历里出现过的)现在都怎么处理呢？多

好酒店，只能选择稍微有点距离的酒店。
我想问一下三藩的公交发达吗？不求赶上中国的公交车的频率，但也不想30分钟一班车

开会的地方位于union square hilton。
想了解一下这些地方安全形势如何，以及是否晚上不能出门。
另外最近三番天气如何，需要穿什么衣服。

想找机会去声援一下你们。
另外，此次会议地点在Hilton Union Square。据说有将近2000人参加，参加的人都有
一定层次，而且有相当的中国人。
可以在此附近搞一些活动来扩大影响。 |

（所谓大公司薪水未必比所谓小石油公司薪水高）
如果自己有兴趣，可以去查查rigzone还有AICHE都贴过salary 分析。
2011 薪水近似最高（尤其对graduate)，2012勉强持平稍有下降。
这些调查是由工作经验人的薪水。
