说说我们干了 啥， 或许对以后要申请的人有用。
我们是生物统计专业。说实话我们program挺挫的。 所以对申请berkeley, stanford的
人没啥用。
又只干过这一次，样本数=1， 所以没啥统计价值。
committe看得第一样东西 -- GRE！(挫吧)。 GRE verbal 太烂的，直接仍出去了。没
看下面的成绩单啥的。系里大家都痛恨英语烂的。
TOEFL？ 好像基本没看。 为啥？因为没有人知道TOEFL满分是多少。所以见到TOEFL成
绩，也不知道好坏。(这个，让我觉得很很很挫)。
然后尼？看成绩单，看那个学校出来的。可以没有任何biology的成绩。 但是，数学类
成绩一定要好。一个美国兄弟，上了无穷多数学课，但是成绩是linearly decreasing,
所以也被扔出去了。
你要是不幸有个成绩是D 的linear algebra或微积分，那你土了。
personal statement: 看了。但是没有人关心了多热爱统计。你热不热爱是你 |

我想请问在暑假的这段时间，我现在学校ISS把我除名以后是不是就是黑身份了啊？
下学期再注册会有问题吗？

建议，我也说不好，学校都不是什么牛学校，但是cs专业，我觉得就业学校也不需要多
牛，
A： Auburn university，在AL，专业排名和综合排名好像90多，学费 3万8千多
B：Georgia state of university，专排110多，综排找不到，在Atlanta 的 downtown
，学费 4万7千多
地理位置肯定是atlanta机会多了，但是学校一般，director是中国人，估计招的大部
分也是中国人，学费比奥本贵1万多，
还有如果想以后找机会转phd，master转phd 机会多不？请大家发表自己的意见，谢谢 |

are wrong on facts.
(1) A century ago, colleges openly said there were caps for Jews. That was

(3) Many Asian parents for the past decade has complained to the agency

为生老大,陪LD来美国读博士, 然后生老二, 在家带孩子7年了. 其间也申请过两次学校
, 但每次都申请LD以前读的一个学校,都没成功, 失败的主要原因可能是申请跨专业(统
计)的博士. 2010年, LD来LA做博后,去年老二也开始上学, 所以又重新申请了一次, 这
次是1个统计, 4个生物统计(有一个是LD现在的学校),一个会计硕硕士(CSU). 现在最想
去的LD的学校把我拒了.University of Florida的School of Public Heath要给我
Admission. 所在城市的另一个学校CSU还没结果.
我特别想去读, 呆在家带小孩7年了, 年龄也大了, 再不读以后要申请也不容易.GRE今
年年底就过期了, 还得找人写推荐信. 每次找人写推荐信特别不好意思, 因为人家都帮
我写了好几次了.我的同学很多都早就博士毕业了, 没读博的人工作也都不错,至少稳定
. 我原来本科成绩年级前十的, 女生中差不多最好的了. 现在跟以前的同学联系什么的

我女儿生日比cutoff晚了8 天。刚跟city education board 申请了 early admission
application,考试安排在7月下旬。
但是只告知考试大概一小时，有一个老师one on one.别的啥内容也不告知。而且
guideline里面说了，只有每个方面发展都accelerated 的孩子才会被接收，即便被接
收，不一定能去离家近的那个。
这里肯定有不少父母带孩子参加过这种考试吧？ 希望大家花一点时间写写经过/经验。
我决定帮孩子好好准备考试，考过考不过再说，至少给妹妹探探路，因为也是个十月生
日娃！ |

发帖数: 59 | 50 我女儿考过，不过没经验可说，那时也不知道怎么准备，所以也没准备过。考了两个多
小时，中间休息了10分钟，两个section,两个老师，都是一对一。她考完后问她考了什
么，也说不清楚。后来看了evaluation result,有4个成绩，Motor – Fine，Motor –
Perceptual，Cognitive，Communication。她没考过，因为想让她提前上学，送去了
private school，收获很多。一年级转回公校，有2，3个月不适应，不喜欢现在的老师
，觉得老师不够喜欢她，老想回以前的学校。可能是公校学生多，老师太忙。不过3个
月后就好多了。private school学的超前，老师让她做peer tutor,做得很开心。我们
这儿gifted program是所有一年级学生都考，她是班上唯一一个考上的，cogat(form 7
)考了160，据说是满分。现在整天跟我说要留在这个学校，不要去gifted program学校
。可能early admission evaluation比cogat, itbs难吧。让小孩体验一下，结果不重
要。 |
