在我们program里赢得了良好的口碑.新的PD去年刚刚走马上任,在我面前多次提到要扩招中国毕业
生.困难是每年申请的人太多(3000左右), 一般他们只随机筛查300份申请后就发出面试通知, 众多
申请者的CV根本就不会到达PD的手中(包括我们许多的中国同胞).因为program里近几年住院医王姓
赵姓的有好几个,PD今天居然告诉我说他今年准备从ZYX开始筛.
如果你准备今年申请内科住院医,step1,2>90,如果你信任我不会将你个人背景资料外泄(但不排除
program里的其他中国住院医),请将你的CV在9月前发至n***********[email protected].我会根据你
的CV将你推荐给我们的PD.因为夏天后会很忙,我不会回答你的任何问题,也不能保证你一定能拿到面
试, 但肯定会增加你面试的机会.
我们program是NJ一个不错的社区医院program,教学很好.没有NYC program那样繁忙,但也没有
NYC的pogram一样有好的ELECTIVE机会.

stoping prematches (outside the match offers) for International Medical
Graduates (IMGs), here's the link http://www.nrmp.org/all-in.pdf
The arguement is that there's no need to give outside the match offers as
IMGs are able to get the visa processing with the normal NRMP matching
process.
The document also details the prematch offers that were given in the year
2008 with some interesting statistics.

根据这个解释和其中邮寄的说明"If you do waive your right to see your LoRs,
provide the letter writer with a completed AAMC Request for Letter of
Recommendation/Cover Sheet and a completed DSF so that he/she can send the
LoR directly to ECFMG in a sealed envelope from the institution.＂, LOR应由
推荐人直接寄出, 不应该由申请人寄出. 但在实际操作中, 不少人也是把推荐信收齐
密封好后, 一起由申请人寄出， 至于这种方法, ＥＲＡＳ会不会认为是一种＂you
obviously did not waive your right to see them＂而被"annotated＂就不知道了,
但是LＯＲ肯定还是会被扫描进出的.

另外要反复跟推荐人确定，信里加上了自己的名字和AAMC ID，如果waive了，还要写上
你waive了。我的推荐人，尤其不常写推荐信的，基本都忘了加这些。结果人家写完了
都打印出来了，一问，再改吧，来来回回。 |

supporting documents that have been submitted to the ERAS PostOffice.

service starting on Sept 1. Maybe most of you have received the same message.
The key info:
1. Live Chat service is to be launched on September 1, 2011.
2. It is another method of communicating with IMGs participating in ERAS
2012 which will enable a one-on-one conversation with an ERAS Support
Services representative.
3. Live chat time: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Eastern
Time (ET).

programs.
Here is the instructions on ERAS:
If you select No to the automatic retransmission option, anytime new scores
become available or you apply to new programs, you will have to manually
retransmit your USMLE transcript. You can do this by going to Documents/
USMLE transcript tab in MyERAS and selecting the Retransmit option. A
request is then generated and sent to the NBME/ECFMG to upload the most

今天第一封LOR被upload了。
总结的小体会就是：
1.同一个attending可以写多封LOR的，在ERAS和cover letter里要指定specialty就好
了。为了保险起见，同一个attending的不同信件我让他们分别寄出。给他们提供了
prepaid的fedex信封。
2.一定要提醒letter writer随信要附上cover letter和DSF，我幸亏打电话提醒了，写
信的attending根本就没注意，没有把这两个文件放进去。打电话以后又拆开信封，重
新放进去的。
3.签字一定要非黑色的笔。
4.我的LOR在收到10天就upload了，比传说中的3－4周短，可能是现在还不是高峰期吧。
暂时先想到这么多。

Programs也是在按SOAP规则和时间表操作, 收到电话就如同正常面试季节收到的面试邀

关于SOAP, 我当初是报着"不放过任何一个机会"的想法, 研究了一段时间, 做了很多准
备, 并且参考分析了NRMP前几年Scramble的数据, 同时在等待Match期间, 把我能想到
但又不得其解的问题都找到了官方的正式解释. 目前SOAP正在运行, 谈谈个人的看法,
如果能有帮助就非常高兴了:
1. SOAP优于以前的Scramble, 对IMG而言, SOAP将提供比以前的Scramble更多的机会,
千万不要认为SOAP没用, 对SOAP的信心和切实行动能战胜一切.
2. SOAP是严格按照NRMP提供的规则和时间表进行运行, 对其规则和时间表最好非常清

分以外的东西: 沉稳, 准确, 思路清晰． 换言之，一个良好的素质．也就不奇怪
他接下来的面试准备得也这么到位．
下面是我的笔记节选:
根据自己的情况来读他人的经验．
7/1 upload 材料到ERAS, 9/1 申请 (电子信大概需要一周). 所有材料精心准备, 没
有严重缺陷和拼写错误.
LOR: 最少3封, 4封更好. 长度满一页, 到一页半. 最好加上AAMC number. 无论谁给
写, 一定要写得很好. 最好找美国医生写, 找所申请科的医生写. 大牛的信如果写得
很泛泛, 还不如一份其他写的很strong的信. LOR一定要早要, 5月1日就可以开始要
LOR. 如果这个人没给你写过信, 要当面问他能否给你写信, 观察他的表情和反应. 如
果他回答很干脆, 这信可以用. 如果他有犹豫, 这信不能用.
PS: 一般不超过800字/一页. 自己写, 然后用商业服务润色或请美国医生(要熟悉美

OB中如何树立好的印象和推荐信：
inpatient OB：细节打动人
1.先和medical student介绍自己，做朋友，然后问他们是否介绍一下attending的习惯
和查房的schedule这些background已经常见的提问。
2.和nurse和student熟悉以后，可以了解哪个attending是否喜欢带教学，如果确定后
，问attending是否可以跟他几周，这样写的LoR也strong。
3.眼里要有活：帮助查资料
4.找LoR： 看着attending的眼睛说Could you please help me to write a strong
recommendation letter for application? 如果对方很肯定地答应，这个推荐信应该
不错。如果是再次申请的，用旧的 AAMC number，现在就可以要推荐信了，可以装在信
封里面封闭，拿在自己手里。最好有1个月的时间给attending写信的时间准备。如果医
生要drift template，可以给他。
