highlights of the AAFC and NFL teams based in Baltimore and
reflects history while those teams were in Baltimore only.
December 28, 1946 Baltimore was awarded the bankrupt Miami
Seahawks franchise of the All-America Football Conference.
The team was renamed Colts via a fan contest. Bob Rodenberg
heads the purchasing group.
September 7, 1947 The Colts won their first-ever AAFC game

这个假期间读了一些NFL近百年来的踢球史, 从球的形状, 到踢法, 到规则战术,
都有很大演变, 加上以前的一些文字, 写成这个贴子.
在座很多看官都是当年系队校队的足球主力, 可能会有兴趣.

第一场橄榄球赛在1869年举行的时候, 球是正圆型的,
大部分时间在地面上滚, 被用脚踢. 然后 ...(此处略去数百字) ...
当American Professional Football Association 在1920年成立时,
球虽然已经经过几次改造, 还是像英式橄榄球一样, 比较大号, 也比较圆.

APFA在1922年改名叫NFL, 直到1932年, 都沿用大学的规则, 模仿他们的风格：
踏旗档之后的PAT一般都用有专门队友扶球的定射(placement kick),
而FG一般都用一个人独立完成的坠射(drop kick),
能省下一个人来派到前面去做保护, 当时被认为是个不小的优势.
虽然这样的球坠在地上, 能得到比较有规律的反弹, 坠射仍然是很不好把握的技术.
