地beat，没有什么特别的利好或利空。
1. iPhone
卖了8.7m，比所谓的consensus（9.2m）少。但是ER call里说了，in transit
inventory这次没有算进去。以前是算的，2007年iPhone首发的那个quarter
特别解释过。Call里还说他们其实完全可以卖更多。
我估计是他们主要是想把revenue拖到下个季度再book，好smooth out the curve。
因为本季度改accounting，revenue已经很吓人了。
Droid和Pre也肯定有一定的影响。这两个加起来怎么也有1m了，我猜对iPhone的影响
大概是0.2m左右。我自己就认识有人弃iPhone而买Droid，实在受不了at&t的信号。
Apple应该尽快卖Verizon版iPhone，可以挤压竞争对手的生存空间，趁这个影响目前
还不大。
iPhone每年是两个高峰，Q3/Q4的换型大高峰和Q1的圣诞小高峰。

10Q4 is the first recovered Q, so can not use this as evidence that
normalized growth is accelarating.
6. Accounting: the revenue is now recognized immediately, but the tax is
still deferred, so operating cash flow needs to get this added from reported
earning.
7. You can not substract total book value when calculating its real value.
Apple is a hardware company. It needs working capital and fixed assets to

why Wall St doesn't need any more PhD/quants to price exotic derivatives.
Fundamental eq or credit research is a relatively small space, but there are
still some needs from hedge funds/mutual funds. hi-freq or stat arb/medium
freq continues to be strong. |
