season games into garbage, especially for teams not named Seahawks and
Saints. With one more wild card game, MLB only changes from 4 out of 15 into
5 of 15, still very competitive. One more NFL wild card game means 7 of 16
teams will get in. That's inching towards the garbage NBA. |

championship much more meaningful, and give many teams incentive to play
hard in September. Even if a league settles with 2 clear candidates for this
one game, those 2 teams still need to play hard to get a huge home field
advantage for this single game.
Before Tampa Bay's rise, AL routinely had Yanks winning AL East, RedSox
happily taking the wild card. |

also makes sure both No.4 and No. 5 teams spend their No.1 or No.2 SP
before facing the next opponent. That's the exact advantage what division
champions should enjoy. Turning that thing into a 5 game series will only
make other teams rusty, which is an incentive for teams to suck. |

Yes. My wish list:
* Preserve current 8-divison/4-team format, no damn expansion
* Preserve the 16-game schedule, no damn expansion
* Preserve 4 division winners + 2 wild cards for playoffs, no damn expansion
* Seed all playoff teams according to records only,
with #1 tie-braker being division champ
* Two bye weeks per season
* Two special 8-week IR spots per team
* No more Thursday football, or, only from week 4 to week 13, with both
teams coming off bye weeks and 10-day rest
